I read an article recently by Carey Nieuworf on intentionally budgeting think time into your routine.
The thing that stood out to me the most was the fact that he only has 2 meetings a week. Given my line of work and the scope of what I do, I don't know how that is entirely possible. However, what he said did get me thinking.
In this digital age, we're mass consumers of content. I frequently enjoy sitting down with a hot cuppa and watching my favourite YouTube channels (recipes, tech, beauty) but if I'm not careful, I can spend hours on it. Likewise for written content. It's so easy to fall into that trap.
So while you're busy spending time online, you miss all the good things offline.
To be a better follower of Christ and a better leader, we need to invest time in thinking. Not behind a screen, but with a notebook in hand. Get outside and disconnected. Who knows what you'll come up with.
